Required Software

To fully access Agile Mind programs, you need:

Install Flash now.

Adobe Acrobat Reader

Display - Enable ActiveX controls and plug-ins

Select Tools, then Internet Options from the menu at the top of the Internet Explorer window. The Internet Options window will appear.
Select Security from the list of tabs at the top of the Internet Options window. The Security tab will appear.
Select the Custom Level button. The Security Settings window will appear.
Scroll down to the Download signed ActiveX controls entry and select the prompt radio button.
Scroll down to the Run ActiveX controls and plugins entry and select the enabled radio button.
Select the OK button to accept the changes.

Enable browser session "cookies"

Click on the Tools menu at the top of your browser.
Click on the "Internet Options" item at the end of the dropdown list.
Click the Privacy Tab.
Move the slider to the Medium level for internet.

Technology Specifications:

Agile Mind services are delivered in an application service provider (ASP) model, meaning that they are web-based services operating from a central data center. All content is accessed at the Agile Mind website and delivered via the Agile Mind Internet servers. Students and educators can access Agile Mind services via personal computers with standard Internet access at a minimum connection speed of 56kbs using standard Internet browsers, or via school computers and labs that meet the Campus and Disctrict Network Requirements

Our services dynamically generate content for each Teacher and Student logging in, and send data from those unique sessions back to our servers, so the use of cache,proxy, and filtering servers can negatively affect how our service works and cause incorrect reporting for Teachers and Students. Therefor, for best performance we recommend bypassing any caching servers, proxy servers, or deep filtering to access Agile Mind content.

If your network configuration requires access via such servers, the best practice is to white list our URL on any cache, proxy, or filtering servers so that those servers are bypassed for our URL.

If white listing our URL is not possible, the servers must be compliant with RFC 2616 and allow the HTTP Headers supplied by the Agile Mind servers to determine the caching behavior.

As the Agile Mind services are web based, it is also important that there is adequate bandwidth available based on the expected usage. A bandwidth guideline for typical Agile Mind usage in a lab environment can be determined with the following formula:

1.3 KB/second X # of concurrent users = Recommended Available Bandwidth

When using an Internet connection in a classroom or computer lab, it is preferred that computers are connected via a wired connection. If connected through a wireless connection, there should be adequate wireless connection capacity on the wireless device to support the number of students and teachers required.

For a PC:

· Pentium IV 500Mhz or higher

· 50MB of available disk space

· 56 Kbps or higher internet connection

· Windows 2000 / 512 MB RAM

· Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or better) / 512 MB RAM

· Windows Vista / 1GB RAM
