Agile Mind offers middle school mathematic services, Middle School Mathematics 2 and Middle School Mathematics 3 (MSM 2 and MSM 3), that encompass two complete years of mathematics instruction, assessment, test preparation, and on the fly professional development for teachers. Together, the services present all of the key middle school concepts that prepare your students for success in Algebra I.

Agile Mind MSM 2 transitions students from elementary mathematics towards increasingly abstract mathematics that demand higher levels of thinking. Ratios and proportionality—two areas known to be the source of significant student misconceptions—are comprehensively supported.

With Agile Mind MSM 3, students develop a strong foundation for success in Algebra and Geometry. The pre-algebraic concepts of patterns, equations, linear and non-linear relationships, and equality and inequality are comprehensively supported.

  • The critical connection between multiple representations is emphasized in both services, with interactive representations enabling students to visualize and analyze vital concepts.
  • Real-world contexts are used throughout, motivating students to see the relevance of all the mathematics they learn.

Last year my Algebra I students used MSM 2 and MSM 3 to learn about ratios, proportions, and rates. Because they learned these topics so well, this year the class is 4 weeks ahead in the curriculum than students in previous years.
