AYD supports the successful transition of students into Algebra I.
In developing their understanding of mathematical relationships, students use multiple representations, patterns, and data collection and analysis in real- world contexts to build confidence and enhance their mathematical problem solving skills.
In addition, AYD fosters students’ sense of belonging to a math community. At this crucial time of transition, it builds their sense of acceptance, comfort, and trust in their teachers and classmates.
